Step 1 – Setting up XAMPP:

1. Head to the Apache Friends website at

2. Click on “Download” to download XAMPP.

3. Select the version of XAMPP which suits your operating system; for example, Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux.

4. Once the download is finished, open the downloaded file.

5. Go through the installation steps provided by the setup wizard.

6. Follow the startup instructions to launch the XAMPP control panel.

7. Once the installation is finished, launch the XAMPP control panel and start Apache and MySql.

Step 2 – Installing PHP:

1. Download the necessary PHP files from the official website at

2. Find the PHP Zip package that is suitable for your operating system; for example, Windows 3.1 or Mac OS X.

3. Unzip the downloaded PHP files and copy the PHP files into the XAMPP folder.

4. Open the XAMPP Control Panel and enable the modules on the ‘PHP’ tab.
